Christmas 2013

We had a really great Christmas this year! Pictures to prove it...

My little Christmas cutie!

We spent Christmas Eve at Spencer's dad's house. Delicious food!

Getting ready to act out the Nativity scene!

We spent Christmas morning at Spencer's moms house. We had a delicious breakfast & played games all afternoon!

Grandma & Grandpa... Scarlett loves these two!

We spent Christmas evening at my Mom's house. Cousin Corbyn holding the babies while we take pictures of their cuteness!

Ok... is this not the cutest?!

 Merry Christmas from the Frandsen's/Benson's!

Cousin time at Oly Kooka on New Years Day!

3 Months Old

Time is seriously flying by. It seems like the sleepless nights are long and will never end but when I look back at pictures of when she was first born, I can't believe how much has changed in just that short time! She has definitely grown & become easier to handle but with each growth comes a new set of challenges.

I will be honest, I had a really hard time when Scarlett was born. I was not ready for a child & being pregnant for 10 months didn't prepare me for what was ahead. I had no idea what I was getting into until I was actually in it! Bring with it a baby who has acid reflux, a dairy allergy, sleepless nights, changing hormones, no free time, etc. and you've got a big bag of grumpiness handed to you.

I love her so much and I feel like I will do anything for her, but some days I couldn't help but find myself wishing I could go back to my old life, turn the clock back- back to where I could pick up and go to the store on a whim, shop as long as I wanted, clean the house whenever, stay up late hanging out with friends, sleep in, etc. No one tells you how isolating it is & it’s not like you ever see a Facebook status saying “I just had a baby and I’m not really enjoying it.”

As she is getting older, it is definitely getting easier (thank goodness for time!) but boy has my life changed! I am so excited to keep watching her grow!

Sorry to be long winded but here are some 3 month pictures!

Scarlett sleeping next to her cousin Taysen

Scarlett is a side sleeper & has been since day one!

We love this little snow suit for late night walks in the cold. It makes us laugh because she looks like Ralphie!

One of our New Year resolutions is to get into mountain biking! This was my first workout post-partum and it was SO hard but I'm super excited to get back into shape!

Step Father-in-law Dave coaches spin classes & invited me along!

Sucking on Daddy's finger

Silly face!

Doing tummy time on the Boppy!

We have always gotten a kick out of Scarlett's hair since day 1. She is bald everywhere else but has these 1" long hairs in the back! So funny... especially when she has bed head and her hairs stick out like a beak!

So sick of pumping!

First time in the Bumbo seat

Milestones

- Started grabbing her toes
- Cooing is turning into yelling/screaming
- Kicks alot & tries to kick the toys on her play mat
- Loves showers
- Sleeping 10 hour stretches with one feeding in between

2 Months Old

Here are just a few pictures of Scarlett at 2 months old!

She started to really look at toys. She has a great attention span and was entertained by this toy for 5 minutes straight! It has become one of her favorite toys.

Silly faces!

She makes this face all the time. She's just so intrigued with what I'm saying!

I felt really left out over the Holiday's not being able to eat dairy so I made my very first ever dairy free red velvet cake! It turned out pretty good! The cake itself was a little dry and the frosting had too much margarine in it but it still satisfied my sweet tooth!

Sometimes I might get a little carried away dressing her up...

This is my favorite photo of Scarlett, ever! After I put her in this outfit, she was so mushy & cute, I just wanted to eat her up!!

Milestones

- Started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks old (7 hour stretches) *happy mom!*
- Got her very first vaccinations *hated it, & was fussy the entire day*
- Recognizes our dog Sophie and watches her
- Looks at books & observes the pictures
- Loves baths
- Smiles REALLY big

Scarlett still has acid reflux & is on a full adult dose of an antacid called Lansoprazole. When she doesn't get her medicine, she gets fussy & has a really hard time eating. She chokes on her milk & will only eat about 1-2 ounces. Unfortunately, the medicine also gives her a tummy ache. Poor thing!

Scarlett's Blessing Day

Scarlett was blessed on December 1st, 2013. It was the most stressful but beautiful day. We barely arrived on time for 9:00 Sacrament meeting and my heart was racing. We were so busy cleaning the house & preparing the food the few days before that I felt like I hardly had a second to think about this beautiful day. Spencer did a good job and is so in tune with the spirit. The things that stuck out to me most from her blessing was she was blessed with the gifts of Faith, Hope, & Charity and the gift of bringing people together. What wonderful gifts!

My little Angel

This is the same dress that me & my sisters wore. Scarlett is the 2nd grandchild to wear it.

Me & my cousin Eboni. We have always loved babies growing up. I am holding my nephew Taysen who is 3 weeks younger than Scarlett.

Scarlett & her friend Rori, just a few weeks apart!
