12 Weeks

Yes...it's true!

We are expecting!!

I took 3 pregnancy tests after I was a week and 1/2 late from my "time of the month" and they all came back positive. (Btw - Pregnancy tests from the dollar store work just fine... here is the proof)

This girl doesn't even know what's coming yet... her world is about to change!

Spencer got really excited and bought his dream stroller... The BOB

He got home from work and school one night and decided to put it together! He was pretty excited!

And of course Sophie had to play in the box it came in...

California Bound

I'm a little late posting this but over Spring Break we drove down to California to visit Spencer's aunts. We've been married for almost 5 years now and were finally getting down there to see them!

The first 2 days of our trip, we spent with Spencer's aunt Jocelyn. On the first day, we rented bikes and rode them around Balboa Island

We stopped at got frozen banana's dipped in chocolate. Yum!

Us riding the Ferris Wheel with Spencer's cousin Katie

At "The Wedge"

Spencer's aunt Jocelyn lives in Placentia, CA and when we left her house, it was close to 80 degree's. As soon as we got close to the ocean, the temperature dropped to somewhere in the 60's. I was freezing the whole time, but we still had fun!

The next day, Spencer's uncle Kris told us to eat at this restaurant called Slater's 50/50. The burgers are 50% bacon and 50% hamburger!

The hamburger was huge, but delicious!

I ordered a salad because I was trying to be healthy

Later that evening, we went to an outdoor shopping mall called The Spectrum! The weather was gorgeous and I had fun shopping.

The tail end of our trip was visiting Spencer's other aunt that lives in Camarillo, CA. She took us hiking up this sand dune where we watched the dolphins swimming in the ocean below.

Climbing this sand dune was a work out! It's literally straight up and hiking in sand only.

Sitting at the top resting

After we hiked the sand dune, DeAnna took us to eat breakfast at the airport. There's a small airport near her house and we got to watch small planes land and take off while enjoying our delicious breakfast!

This is not something you see in Utah... DeAnna has a lemon tree/bush in her front yard and the lemons were huge!

There are bunches of strawberry fields everywhere and you can stop and buy cases of strawberries at the stands off the side of the road. The strawberries were the biggest, juiciest, yummiest I had ever tasted or seen!

Our last day, we celebrated Spencer's Uncle Dean's birthday at a restaurant in Marina Del Ray called "Killer Shrimp" on the pier. Unfortunately, this was the best picture I got, but we ate some pretty amazing shrimp!

After we ate the shrimp, Spencer and I decided to head home. This was the traffic at 9:00 at night in LA. The traffic in California is so annoying!

Thanks again to Spencer's aunts for their hospitality and showing us around. We had a lot of fun!

Twinner's

Haha I just thought this was too good to not share!

The Superbowl & a Jazz Game

We had a Superbowl party at my parents house and let's be honest, I could care less about the game itself but I love spending time with my Mom & Sister's while the Men watch the game. I don't feel like I missed out at all.

We had A LOT of delicious food!

Watching the game!

During the game, my mom showed us her Quilting Machine. She hasn't had it very long but she is learning how to use it. I'm so proud of her for trying new things, even if it's totally out of her comfort zone. I know she'll be able to master this in no time.

She let us try it, and it is not as easy as it looks! The machine is ginormous!

My sweet husband is the Marketing Director at work and he worked his magic with Utah Business Magazine and got us free tickets to their Jazz suite. A good networking opportunity for sure!

Hard Winter

I can't believe March is already here and I couldn't be more excited about it! Does anyone else feel like this has been a LONG and cold Winter? The snow in our backyard is North facing so the snow hasn't melted since November. I finally got to  had to scoop Sophie's poop (Sorry TMI) for the first time since November but that was only on the parts where I could see grass. Otherwise - I don't even want to know how much is still covered under that blanket of snow.

Pics to show proof of this Winter:

Yes, that is 1 Degree. A screenshot from some time back in December.

Almost 2 feet of snow at work.

Blanket of Fog covering the valley. Looking out my upstairs bedroom window.

So what do we do when the Weather is bad?

We make green smoothies in our AMAZING Blendtec to try and stay healthy

We have a Lord of the Rings marathon with Spencers sister's!

And we build igloo's! and by we, I mean Spencer, Bart, Jeff, & Kayla while I watch out the window :)

Happy New Year

Our friends came into town from Arizona (Brady, Brittany & their daughter Holly, JP, & Lindsey). It's not often that we are all together and it was so good to be with them!

I can't take serious pictures without laughing.

On New Year's Eve, we had just a small group over to our house for dinner, games, & a movie.

What's a New Year's Eve without Champagne glasses? Of course we drank Martinelli's!
