AFTER Pictures

The moment you've all been waiting for... here are the AFTER pictures of our bedroom re-done. We repainted, and got new lamps & bedding. I love the colors, it came together quite nicely. The last finishing touch is a piece of artwork to go above our bed.
Other view..
I took a picture of our dresser because this dresser is probably about 10 years old. JP had a great idea to keep the dresser and just replace the handles! So the only thing new about this baby is the silver handles. They used to be gold & white nasty things. It's amazing what just changing handles on something can do! Also, thanks to JP for helping us pick the color scheme!

Double Date & Babysitting

We babysat the little girls over the weekend and on Sunday after church Megan sat right down and started drawing a picture of Jesus. I thought it was the cutest thing I've ever seen, so I took a picture! She is quite the little artist and I'm always so proud of the crafty things she does.
How cute is that?!
This same weekend Spence and I set my little sister Lindsey up on a blind date with our friend Doug. We went to Planet Play in Draper and then went to Spencer's dad's house to have a bonfire in the backyard. It was a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of us playing in the arcade. Enjoy!

For some reason, I just couldn't take this seriously, haha!

Spencer's Garden

So Spencer's dad decided that he didn't want to maintain a garden this Summer and Spencer jumped right on that because I don't think our tiny backyard will accommodate a garden very well. He's been asking me for a while and I just keep telling him "Let's plant a garden when we have a bigger backyard," so here's his chance. About two or three weekends ago, he went to town and planted a TON of vegetables in his dad's backyard. It has been rainy the past two weeks and Spencer's dad gives us updates on how it's doing since we don't live there. From what we hear, things are starting to sprout! I'm most excited for the tomatoes, squash, beets, onions, and herbs!
Here he is tilling up the ground!

One day we will be self sufficient and grow a garden in our own backyard.

Easter Weekend

I did fail to get pictures of us on Easter but the night before, Emily & Brandon had us over to their place for a cousin's hang out/BBQ!
Lindsey thought she was funny spying in the background!
Aunt DeAnn playing with the babies

Thanks DeAnn, Emily, & Brandon for having us over! We had fun and we should do it more often! Well, that wraps it up for us for April. Spencer is studying for his last final and then only one more month until Summer classes begin. I am so proud of him for going to school and being so motivated.

Spring Project #2

This was our second Spring project we decided to take on. The bushes we had in the front were hideous and we had been wanting to replace them since we moved in. Here is Spencer digging a whole with Caleb's help. Caleb is our neighbor and he was a big help with digging holes for Spencer!
DURING- Yes, the bushes you see on the grass are what we had before. Now you know why we chose to replant.
AFTER
The bushes we chose are called "Red Twig Dogwoods" and we knew of them because Spencer's dad has them in his backyard and they are beautiful during all seasons of the year! Right now they look scrawny but they will fill out over the years. We also got a hose holder because it was such a pain to have our hose tangled up on the ground.

Utah Blaze Game

Spencer's dad invited us to the Utah Blaze game. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the game. I got a little bit bored because I really don't know how to play football but it was still entertaining to be there and I enjoyed hanging out! We also had pretty good seats, right on the first and third rows!Jeff got one of the Cheerleaders to throw him a T-shirt. How could you pass up throwing a T-Shirt to a down syndrome girl? She was so excited!

Spring Project #1

Sorry these posts are a little bit late! We decided to paint our bedroom about 3 weeks ago for a Spring project because all of the walls were white and made it seem really washed out and dull. Our good friend JP is going into Industrial Design and part of that is learning interior design so he's really good with colors and decorating and helped us pick out the colors! I haven't taken any pictures of After yet because it's still not finished!
BEFORE
DURING

We left Sophie in the hall while we were painting because we didn't want her to get into the paint! We also left our mattress in the hall with her and when we came out to check on her, this is what we discovered. She tore a giant hole in our mattress!! Oh we were so upset at her. She went in her kennel the rest of the night.
Thanks JP for helping us!! The after pictures will come soon. We still need to figure out our bedding to match the colors.

General Conference

I look forward to General Conference every time. The spirit in our home is always so strong and it's such a blessing to be able to hear from the Prophet and other church leaders. Spencer and I have started a tradition of making breakfast on Sunday during General Conference and this year we made omelets! Spencer made the biggest omelet I have ever seen in my life so I took a picture! We also woke up to about 6 inches of snow which wasn't too fun but it's pretty!
