Spring Break

Last week Spencer and I went down to St. George for Spring Break and stayed with Grandma Frandsen. She always takes such good care of us. We had homemade breakfasts every morning and her house is so relaxing and peaceful. My whole family was down there as well so we were busy spending time with everyone and having a lot of fun. Spencer and I went on a hike and found this rock that was perfectly shaped for a chair! We wanted to take it home. We also got a kick out of Sophie fetching this giant stick.
After we went on our hike, we went to the park and I got picture of Corbyn and Embree playing on the park equipment. This was the only day I took pictures.

Well we are excited to get back there soon! We didn't want to come home because it was a much needed break!

Frandsen/Benson Girls Night Out

On Friday March 4th, we had a girls night out! This was a first for this side of the family and I hope we continue to do it because it was a lot of fun. We started out with some shopping at Rue 21 & good old Ross. Then headed over to Zupa's for some dinner and went to Red Mango for dessert afterward! It was fun just hanging out with all the girls!
Kayla(15) & Summer(12)
Megan(8) & Alli(20)
The girls were embarrassed because we were sitting in the Kohler's parking lot waiting for Michelle & Mckenzie to pick out a movie when a car full of boys pulled up and walked inside. Maddie rolled down the window and yelled "You're hot selfish!" haha I'm not quite sure what that means but all the girls were so embarrassed. I just laughed because I used to do that kind of stuff with my friends all the time! It was definitely a night I needed.

Spencer had to miss out on the girls night and this is what I came home to! He was tying his very own flies for fishing. He went to Cabela's and bought a vise! Pretty amazing. He can do anything he sets his heart to.
Everything all spread out and a concentrated look!

4:00 in the Morning

Yes, it's 3:55am and Spencer and I are of course sound asleep, when suddenly our doorbell rings. I heard it in my sleep and then it rang again. Spencer jumped out of bed and I grabbed his arm and told him not to answer the door. The doorbell kept ringing and then the ringing turned into pounding on the door. We both looked out of the windows sneakily and couldn't see anything. Spencer then snuck down the stairs to take a look out of the peep hole while I continued to look out the windows to see if I could see anyone. No one. Not even through the peep hole. They were clearly hiding from us.
Meanwhile, the pounding and ringing is still going on and we still can't see anyone, so Spencer decides to call the police. He gets the dispatcher on the phone and tells the lady what's going on and she verifies our address and all that stuff and asks Spencer on the phone if whoever it is, is trying to get inside the house. At first this person wasn't, but all of the sudden I heard the person turn the doorknob. Spencer asks the dispatcher if he needs to get a weapon and the dispatcher says "No, don't get a weapon, the cops will be there within about 60 seconds." Then we could see their lights flashing at the intersection by our house and they pulled sneakily into the neighborhood and blared their lights right on our front porch. The dispatcher told us not to answer the door until the cop knocked on our door. I was still watching out the window from our bedroom (top floor) and as soon as they shined their lights on our doorstep, I saw some lady who looked like she might be in her late 20's start dizzily walking away and trying to walk away from the cops. She was completely wasted! Whether it be drugs or alcohol, she was not all there. I didn't recognize her either. We opened the door when the cops knocked and I could hear this lady out there yelling, and arguing saying she "thought she was at house 457, and she could swear she was at the right house, etc."
The cops took down our names & phone number and said they'd be right back after talking to this lady and we waited about 30 minutes while they did their thing outside. It turns out, they never came back to tell us what the crap this lady was doing! I did see them haul her off somewhere but that was the last of it. It was definitely the most intense thing I've ever experienced. I mean, who would open the door to someone at 4:00 in the morning if you don't know who it is? It could have been some big guy with a weapon or something. Especially, since no one was calling our cell phones, we didn't think it was an emergency but who knows?! Well, we couldn't go back to sleep after that one.
